TINKU'S WORLD is a semi-scripted reality television series that explores the life and work of TINKU PATEL, an endearing, yet quirky Indian-born filmmaker, and his relentless efforts to produce an investigative documentary about the complexities and subtleties of race and life in America. As a "show within a show," recurring characters and storylines thread through the entire series ongoing production of the documentary:

TINKU PATEL: Tinku is a thirty-something struggling filmmaker from India. But don't tell him that. Filmmaking is his art and passion, and Tinku will throw himself in the way of anything for the sake of his documentary. From uncovering the truth about "Afro-Americans" in America to the reality of "homosex" in America, Tinku arrives in the United States (a) with his own preconceived notions and skepticisms about Americans, and (b) prepared to walk into a hostile universe where he believes he will be met with stereotypes and discrimination. The intersection of these two sets of expectations provides copious amounts of mutual inter-cultural misunderstanding that is mined for smart, edgy, and insightful humor.

BRETT GUNNER: Brett is a mid thirties, polished media producer with an exhaustive list of television and film credits to his name. A cross of bohemian artist meets academia, Brett was originally commissioned to produce the documentary "Life in America: The American Dream" until his job was outsourced to Tinku Patel. Brett's role is now to serve as a consultant and assistant director to Tinku in the production of the documentary.

MIKE KASEM: Mike is in his late twenties, and serves as Brett's assistant. Mike is one of Tinku's best friends and his only confidante in America. With an inexplicable sympathy for immigrants, he always goes out of his way to be helpful to Tinku, both professionally and personally. Mike is commonly stepping in as the buffer between Brett and Tinku, keeping everyone's attention focused on the goal: the production of the documentary.

LISA HANERSTEIN: Lisa is Brett's administrative assistant, and is involved in the day to day budgeting and production of the documentary.
